
Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets stepped out of conference play on Sunday to take the DII Wolfpack of Madison College at the Regional Stadium. The two teams were extremely evenly matched througout. RCTC took a lead late in the first half on a fantastic volley from Lilly Farrand on a feed from Emily Morales with under two minutes remaining. RCTC lead 1-0 at the break.
The two teams stayed tied until the 75th minute when Maddie Cadd broke through with a goal to tie it for the Wolfpack. Just 4 minutes later Jerzey Ladwig gave Madison a 2-1 lead scoring the game-winner. RCTC put significant pressue on in the final 10 minutes but could not get the equalizer. Chloe Mart had 7 saves for the Jackets while Ava Foster saved 5, including 2 stellar chances in the final minutes to preserve the win for Madison.
RCTC will now move on to post-season play as the #1 seed in the Region Tournament on Saturday, October 26th. RCTC will host the Golden Rams of Anoka-Ramsey at noon at the Regional Stadium. RCTC has beaten Anoka twice this season by the scores of 5-1 and 8-1. The winner advances to the District Tournament November 1st, and 2nd in Michigan.
