Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjacket women's soccer team picked up a big non-conference win over NCCAA DIII Faith Baptist at the Stadium on Wednesday night. RCTC avenged their only loss on the season in earning the victory. The #6 ranked Jackets move to 7-1-1 with the win as the head into the home stretch of theri regular season.
RCTC lead 1-0 at the half with Lilly Farrand picking up the first of her two goals at the 10 minute mark in the first frame. The Jackets pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 67th minute of the second half as Farrand scored off a fantastic feed from Mila Van Der Velde, before the Eagles of Faith Baptist cut their lead in half (2-1) with about 6 minutes remaining.
The Jackets got outstanding defensive efforts from Kya Linden and Izabella Nanoski who helped to preserve the win. Chloe Mart had 6 saves on the 7 shots she faced in the game.
RCTC will play their last regular season game on Sunday, versus Madison College, before hosting the Region Title game on Saturday, October 26th. The game against Madison kicks off at 4:00 pm at the Stadium, while the Region Title game is set for a noon kickoff.
