
Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets got out of the gates a bit slow against a good St. Cloud Technical and Community College team on Saturday as they trailed 16-13 after the first quarter. From their it was all RCTC as they outscored the Cyclones in the second 27-6 before cruising to an 84-46 win. The Jackets are now 12-3 on the season and 1-0 in the MCAC South.
RCTC held St. Cloud to only 30 points in the final three quarters and 34% shooting in the game in the win. The Jackets shot 40% from the floor, including knocking down 7 threes. RCTC forced 32 Cyclone turnovers and had 23 steals in the game. Nyomi Crushshon had a team high 18 points and 7 steals. Allana Bates had a big game as well for the Jackets as the guard had 17 points on 7-15 shooting, while adding 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals. Joining Crushshon and Bates in double-figures were Kara Goetzinger (14) and Macaya Copeland (11). Goetzinger lead the Jackets with 7 rebounds.
RCTC is on the road next Saturday as they travel to Ridgewater to take on the Warriors.
