
Fergus Falls - The #1 ranked RCTC women held the Spartans of Fergus Falls to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters on Wednesday night enroute to a 73-36 win. THe Jackets lead 22-8 after one, and 37-17 at the half. After a tight third quarter the Jackets used a 22-3 fourth quarter to seal the win.
Macaya Copeland lead all scorers with 22 points on 9-14 shooting. Kara Goetzinger added 12, while Allana Bates had 9. Cassidy Shute and Makadyn Gust each had 8 and Tori Henderson had 6 points for the balanced Jacket attack. RCTC shot 53% from the floor, including 54% from the three-point line, while the Spartans were held to only 33% shooting and 14% from beyond the arc. RCTC forced 25 MN State turnovers.
The win sets up a chance for RCTC to claim a share of the MCAC SOuthern Division title with MN West on Saturday. If RCTC can win over Anoka-Ramsey, and MN West wis over Ridgewater, then the #1 ranked Jackets and #2 ranked LadyJays will share the title heading into the region tournament. A coin flip would then determine the #1 seed at the Regional. RCTC will tip-off against Anoka at 1:00 on Saturday on the Performance Court of the Regional Sports Center.
