#1 Ranked RCTC women win a pair of MCAC Crossover contests

The #1 ranked RCTC women got a pair of losided wins in the opening weekend of the MCAC Crossover.  The Jackets downed Central Lakes 95-41 on Friday and then defeated Gogebic on Saturday 91-49.

Against Central Lakes, Tori Henderson scored a team high 20 points off the bench.  The freshman was7-9 from the floor, including 6-7 from the three-point line.  THe Jackets also got 19 points from Macaya Copeland, 16 from Aniyah Reuben, 15 from Nyomi Chrushshon, and 12 from Allana Bates.  In her first action of the season Makadyn Gust had 8 points for the Jackets.  RCTC had 17 steals and forced 35 Raider turnovers in the contest.

In game two against Gogebic it was once again the Jacket defense leading the way as the forced 27 turnovers and had 20 steals.  Makadyn Gust had a team high 6 steals, while Copeland, Bates, Reuben, and Crushshon each had 3.  The Jackets got 17 points each from Reuben, Crushshon, and Bates, while Macaya Copeland added 16.  Marianna Frnaklin chipped in 6 from the bench while Gust added 8.  Bates had a triple double as the freshman added 10 assists and 10 rebounds to her 17 point total.

RCTC will now host MN North-Vermilion on Friday night in the home pprtion on the MCAC Crossover.  The Jacket women will not have a game on Saturday as MN North-Mesabi Range has cancelled the contest due to a lack of healhy players.
