Jacket women roll to two wins at Riverland Classic

Austin, MN - The RCTC Yellowjacket women looked like the #1 ranked team in the country as they opened their season with a pair of games at the Riverland Classic in Austin.  The Jackets opened their season with a 102-52 win over the JV of Waldorf University on Friday, before winning 111-29 over MN North - Vermilion on Saturday.

In their opener RCTC had five players score in double-figures with Nyomi Cruchchon leading the way with 29.  Kara Goetzinger had 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Macaya Copeland added 18 points and 9 assists.  Aniyah Reuben poured in 14 points on 6-10 shooting, while Tori Henderson added 10.  RCTC had 15 steals in the game with Crushshon leading the way with 7.  Goetzinger added 5 blocks on the day.

In game two the Jackets held Vermilion to only 24% shooting entorute to the 111-29 win.  Goetzinger had 28 points hitting on 13-15 shots, while Allana Bates added 26 to pace RCTC.  Macaya Copeland had 17 while Reuben and Henderson joined her in double-figures with 11 and 10 respectively.  Copeland, Reuben, and Bates each had 5 assists, while Bates had 6 of the Jackets 21 steals in the game.

RCTC is back in action this weeknd as they host the Yellowjacket Classic on Friday and Saturday.  RCTC will play Central Lakes on Friday before taking on the JV of Saint Mary's University on Saturday.
