Jackets split a pair at NDSCS Invite

The #1 ranked RCTC Yellowjackets women split a games of games at the NDSCS Invite this weekend.  RCTC fell to the host NDSCS 66-53 in the opener before downing the JV of Jamestown 78-63 in game two.

Game one saw the Jackets struggle early as they trailed 14-3 after the first quarter and 34-16 at the half.  RCTC got on track in the second half outscoring the Wildcats 37-32.  RCTC got a team high 18 points from Aniyah Reuben.  Reuben went 6-15 from the floor and hit 4-6 from the line.  Kara Goetzinger added 15 points, while Nyomi Crushshon added 14 for RCTC.  Jaid Pressley lead the Jackets with 6 rebounds.  RCTC shot only 32% from the floor against the tough NDSCS defense, and hit on 4-13 from beyond the arc. The Jacket defense did force 20 Wildcat turnovers as RCTC had 14 steals lead by Crushshon with 5.

In game two the Jackets got a hot shooting night from frehman Allana Bates en route to the 78-63 win.  Bates was 7-13 from three-point range and had a team high 22 points.  The Jackets put all five starters in double-figures as Kara Goetzinger (14), Nyomi Chrshsho (14), Aniyah Reuben (12), and Tori Henderson (11), all joined Bates in double-figures.  Reuben lead the Jackets with 7 steals, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds.  Crushshon added 5 steals as the Jackets had 20 total.  

RCTC is back on the court heading to Boone, IA this weekend to take part in the DMACC Tournament.  The Jackets will play the host school on Friday night, before taking on Johnson County Community College on Saturday.
