Jackets get split again on day two of MCAC Crossover

Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets played a scrimmage and a regular season game on Day Two of the MCAC Crossover tournament, going 1-1 in the two "games".  The Jackets opened the day with a scrimmage against Rainy River who had several players out with injury.  The Jackets scored 8 runs over the five innings while Rainy River had 5.

In the days official contest, RCTC and MN North-Itasca went back and forth  posting big innings.  Itasca scored five in the first, before RCTC scored 6 in the top of the 2nd.  THe Vikings responded with 5 more of their own in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 10-6 lead.  Itasca then put up 2 more in the third to lead 12-6.  RCTC then scored 2 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th to make it 12-11 before Itasca scored 6 in the bottom of the 6th and closed out the Jackets with a scoreless 7th 20 win 18-11.

Bailey Monson was 3-3 with two triples, 3 RBI's and 2 runs scored to lead the Jacket offense.  Skylar Beckel was 2-4 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored, while Ivette Mendoza each picked up a pair of RBI's.  Presley Newcomb was 2-4 in the game for RCTC. 

RCTC will square off against MN West and St. Cloud in the final day of the Crossover on Sunday.  First pitch is at 9:00am.
