RCTC men split MCAC Crossover opening weekend

The RCTC men's basketball team headed North for the opening weekend of the MCAC Corssover series and came away with a split in a pair of games.  RCTC fell to Central Lakes 84-74 on Friday night, before downing Gogebic 87-63 on Saturday afternoon.

Against Central Lakes the Jackets got 16 points from Sam Jennings and a double-double from Jamison Lien (13 points and 11 rebounds) in the loss.  Leroy Barnes chipped in 12 points while Charlie Morning had 9 points off the bench.  The Jackets shot 46% from the floor, and 7-24 (29%) from three point land.  Central Lakes shot 53% including 7-17 (41%) from beyomd the arc.

In game two, it was once again Lienand Barnes leading theway.  Lien had 17 points and 14 boards, while Barnes was7-10 from the floor for 14 poits, 5 rebounds, a pair of assists and steals.  Laden Nerison added 12 points and 7 assists, while Jennings also poured in a dozen points.  Nathan Hanson was 2-3 from th floor for 9 points. as the Jackets shot 54% from the floor, while holding Gogebic to 38% shooting.  

RCTC will next host the home portion of the MCAC Crossover on Friday andSaturday as they take on MN North-Vermilion on Friday night and MN North-Mesabi Range on Saturday.  Friday night's tip-off will be immediately following the women's game, while Saturday's game will be at 1:00pm
