Jackets get bounceback victory with 58-2 win over Vermilion

Ely, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets rebounded from their opening OT loss with a convincing 58-2 win over MN-North Vermilion.  The Jacket defense lead the charge with 3 froced fumblesand 3 sacks on the day.

Javieane Stevens had a big day for the jackets with 12 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.  Edwin Grama picked up a sack, while Jemarius Sanders had 2 fumble recoveries.  Jahquii Roberts had 7 tackles, while William Russell picked up 5.

On the offensive sie of the ball Dylan Curry was 9-15 for 120 yards and a TD pass.  Joseph Russell was 3-6 for 61 yards and 2 TD's.  TOny Edwards had another big day receiving with 67 yards and a TD catch.  Cole Thompson and Josh Byrne also had TD grabs for the Jackets.  Rashdan Tebyasa was 4-5 on extra points, and hit a 39 yard field goal.  Ramon Jetke hit on all three of his extra point attempts.

The Jackets will now spend the week preparing for a rematch of the 2023 NJCAA title game.  RCTC will host the #1ranked College of DuPage on Saturday, Septmeber 7th.  Kickoff is set for 2:00pm at the Rochester Regional Stadium.
