RCTC football moves to 3-0 in the MCAC

Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets got another big day from their defense and rushed for 210 total yards in downing MN North-Mesabi Range 24-14 on Saturday.  The win pushes the Jackets to 3-0 in the MCAC heading into a home showdown against MN West (4-0 MCAC) on Saturday.

Javieane Stevens had a big day for the Jackets as he lead all players with 10 tackles, including 4 sacks and 4 tackles for loss.  Carter llis had 7 tackles, a sack, and 1 TFL as well.  The Jackets picked up a pair of interceptions in the gameas Jermaine Thomas and Trei Ginn each had picks.  Jakobe Everett had 6 tackles and 3 pass breakups, while Jahquii Roberts picked up a sack and 3 pass break-ups as well.  THe RCTC defense held Mesabi to 198 yards of total offense in the game. 

Offensively the Jackets got 101 yards rushing and a touchdown from Christian Parrish, while Barry Kpeenu picked up 72 yards and a touchdown while averaging 10.3 yards per carry.  Dylan Curry was 12-16 for 150 yards and a touchdown.  Tony Edwards III had 5 catches for 57 yards while Jaylen Williams had 3 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.

Rashdan Tebyasa was 3 for 3 on PAT's and hit his only field goal attempt of 37 yards. 

RCTC and MN West will kick-off at 1:30pm at the Rochester Regional Stadium on Saturday.  Reminder that all RCTC students, faculty, and staff get free entrance to the game!
