
Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets once again played one of the top teams in NJCAA DIII football toe-to-toe, as they lead #3 NDSCS 10-6 heading into the fourth quarter. The Jackets couldn't hold on as they give up a late touchdown, leading to the 14-10 defeat.
The Jackets were lead by their defense as they held the high-scoring NDSCS defense to only 201 total yards. NDSCS quarterback Graedyn Buehl had both rushing TD's for Science. For RCTC, Sylvester Ware IV had a huge game against his former team. The sophomore had 8 tackles, including 4 sacks and a TFL. Joseph Tarnue had his league leading 6th and 7th interceptions of the game, while De'Vonta' Roberts picked up an INT and a sack as well. Keshawn Johnson nearly matched his defensive counterpart Ware, as he picked up 3 sacks in the contest. Andrew Eriks lead the team with 13 tackles, including 3 TFL. Martell Williams had 4 tackles all of them tackles for loss. Deleon Gardner picked up a fumble recovery for RCTC.
Offensively, Moses Nuahpa rushed for 52 yards on 8 carries, while LaQwan Sims had the Jackets lone touchdown, an 11 yard run in the 3rd quarter. Julius Erickson picked up a 32 yard field goal for the Jackets.
RCTC hits the road for their final regular season game of the year, as they head north to play Vermilion CC on Saturday. The MCAC playoffs will begin the following Sunday.
