Clark Jones was hired as the Head Baseball Coach for the RCTC Yellowjackets in 2019.

Jones started his coaching career in 1991 as an Assistant Coach at Ohio University. While at Ohio University, Jones served as the Hitting Coach and was instrumental in leading the Bobcats to the Mid-American Conference Championship and it’s first NCAA Tournament birth since 1970.

In 1992, Jones was hired as an Associate Scout for the New York Yankees serving Michigan and Northwest Indiana. During his time with the Yankees, Jones assisted with the scouting of Derek Jeter under Midwest Scout Dick Groch.

In 1993, Clark Jones was hired at Elmhurst University as the 11th Head Coach in the program’s history and soon built the NCAA Division III Program into consistent perennial power in the CCIW. Jones after 14 yrs of coaching, became the program’s All Time Leader in coaching victories. In 1997, his Bluejay Team won the CCIW Conference Championship and was among the nation’s leaders in many offensive categories as Jones was named CCIW Coach of the Year. While at Elmhurst, Jones developed 2- All Americans, 23-All Region, and 56 All CCIW players. In addition, Jones coached 3 conference batting champions, 4 conference players of the year, and two major league draft picks.

In 2007, Jones and his family moved to Rochester, Minnesota where Jones was hired as the Yellowjackets Assistant Coach under former Head Coach Steve Hucke. During Jone’s tenure as an Assistant Coach, Jones served many roles including Hitting Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, and was instrumental in coaching the 2011 pitching staff that qualified for the NJCAA College World Series. While serving as an Assistant Coach, Jones also worked part time for the Arizona Diamondbacks scouting Minnesota, and South Dakota.

During the Covid Year of 2019-2020, Clark Jones was named Head Baseball Coach at RCTC. Since taking over the Yellowjacket program, the Yellowjackets have developed into a consistent contender in the MCAC and have since won Southern Division Championships in 2022, and 2024. Coach Jones has been instrumental in the development of 1- Rawling Sporting Goods All American, 8 – 1st Team ALL MCAC Players, 2—2nd Team ALL MCAC Players, and 1-3rd Team ALL MCAC Player. He has coached 11 All Region players, and 19 All Southern Division Players. Coach Jones was named MCAC Southern Division Coach of the Year in 2022 and 2024.

Under Jone’s tutelage, the Yellowjacket Program has recently developed 5 NCAA Division I Baseball Players including Brad Barkema ’21 (St. Peter’s University), Gabe Sepulveda ’22 (Morehead State University), Rees Campanale ’24 (Central Michigan University), Griffin Olson ’24 (Morehead State University), and Augusto Mungarrieta ’24 (Kansas).

Clark Jones lives in Rochester with his wife Kim, and has two children, Dakota – 23 yrs, and Cheyenne – 19 years. Jones is employed as a Special Education Teacher for the Zumbro Education District in Kasson, Mn. and is also a licensed Realtor for eXp Realty.
